Mombasa Mission 2026: Restoring Hope. Rebuilding Generations.

"They will rebuild the ancient ruins and restore the places long devastated; they will renew the ruined cities that have been devastated for generations."
Isaiah 61:4

Our 2026 mission to Mombasa, Kenya, was a remarkable time of ministry, partnership, and transformation. While the mission included teaching, preaching, community outreach, pastoral ministry, and support for vulnerable communities, its greatest achievement was witnessing the continuing impact of a vision that is changing lives every day.

Restoring & Repairing the Generations (R4)

At the heart of this year's mission was the continued growth and success of the Restoring & Repairing the Generations (R4) Vocational College, established in partnership with Glory Tabernacle Church.

The vision of R4 is simple but powerful: to equip young people with practical skills, confidence, purpose, and opportunities to build sustainable futures for themselves, their families, and their communities.

The college now offers vocational training in:

  • Baking and Catering

  • Hair and Beauty

  • Barbering

  • Tailoring and Dressmaking

  • Photography

  • Driving Lessons

  • Entrepreneurship and Business Skills

  • Life Skills and Personal Development

The impact has already been extraordinary. Many graduates have secured employment, while others have launched their own businesses, becoming financially independent and creating opportunities for others.

One of the highlights of our visit was celebrating the graduation of 42 students in April 2026. The graduation ceremony was a moving celebration of perseverance, achievement, and hope. Families, church leaders, and the wider community came together to celebrate lives that have been transformed through education and opportunity.

Launch of the Rev Dr Sheila Centre for Wholeness and Wellbeing

Another historic milestone during the mission was the official launch of the Rev Dr Sheila Centre for Wholeness and Wellbeing.

Developed in partnership with Glory Tabernacle Church, the Centre provides a holistic approach to community transformation by supporting the emotional, physical, educational, spiritual, and economic wellbeing of individuals and families.

The Centre now provides:

  • Vocational skills training through the R4 Programme

  • Children's sponsorship and educational support

  • Mother and baby support

  • Wellbeing and pastoral care

  • Community outreach for elderly and vulnerable people

  • Enterprise development and mentoring

The Centre represents a long-term commitment to restoring dignity, empowering communities, and rebuilding generations.

A Mission with Lasting Impact

Throughout our time in Kenya, we were privileged to minister in churches, schools, villages, rehabilitation programmes, and youth ministries. We visited communities, encouraged vulnerable families, supported older people, and witnessed lives being changed through practical expressions of God's love.

However, perhaps the greatest encouragement was seeing that this work is no longer simply about a mission visit—it is about creating sustainable change that will continue long after we return home.

This mission has strengthened our conviction that lasting transformation comes through partnership, education, discipleship, and community empowerment.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who prayed, donated, sponsored children, raised funds, and supported this mission. Your generosity is helping to restore hope, rebuild lives, and create opportunities for future generations.

This is only the beginning.

Together, we are Restoring Hope. Rebuilding Generations
