On Saturday 19th September 2026, we invite you to join us for a very special evening as we celebrate the remarkable life, ministry and enduring legacy of Rev Dr Io Smith MBE. A pioneering pastor, theologian, educator, author, chaplain, community leader and one of Britain's most influential Black Christian leaders.
This celebration is more than a memorial. It is a declaration that her vision, values and commitment to serving God and people will continue to shape future generations.
The evening will also mark two significant milestones:

The inaugural Rev Dr Io Smith Legacy Awards
These initiatives have been established to continue the work that defined Rev Dr Io Smith's life developing leaders, strengthening communities, preserving Christian heritage and inspiring lives of faith and service.

During the evening we will honour individuals whose lives reflect outstanding faith, leadership, community service and transformational impact. These awards celebrate those who continue to build upon the foundations laid by pioneers like Rev Dr Io Smith.
